BOYLSTONE, a parish in the hundred of APPLETREE, county of DERBY, 7 miles (S.) from Ashbourn, containing 330 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Derby, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £6. 0. 2., and in the patronage of John Topics, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
