HATHERLEY (DOWN), a parish in the upper division of the hundred of DUDSTONE-AND-KINGS-BARTON, county of GLOUCESTER,3 miles (N.E. by N.) from Gloucester, containing 170 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, rated in the king's books at £8. 14. 4., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Mary and Corpus Christi.
