The Grassy Triangle, Donnington

Recent Photograph of The Grassy Triangle (Donnington)

Donnington's very own ‘grassy knoll’... a distinctive landmark to assist visitors navigating the parish for the first time. The road entering Donnington from the A417 is to the right on the photo, and the way through Donnington bears to the left. We are standing on the road which joins them from the direction of ‘The Vineyard’ and Broomsgreen.

This intersection of routes was formerly the site of a large elm tree - for reasons now lost, known locally as ‘The Cruse Elm’ - but, which unfortunately became a victim of Dutch Elm Disease.
