St John's Church, Reapsmoor

‘Reap's Moor’ is a hamlet in the chapelry and township of Fairfield Head (Fawfieldhead). (ex. 1868 Gazetteer)

It's understood this building (on Reapsmoor) was erected originally as a workhouse,[1] and was given to the parish by members of the Harpur-Crewe family for the care of the poor. It then became St John's Church and Village School; however the School is now (2007) closed and its place is taken by the Parish Room.
