BURLEY-DAM, a chapelry in the parish of ACTON, hundred of NANTWICH, county palatine of CHESTER, 3 miles (W. by S.) from Audlem. The population is returned with the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Viscount Combermere.
