RODE (ODD), a township in that part of the parish of ASTBURY which is in the hundred of NORTHWICH, county palatine of CHESTER, 4 miles (S.W. by S.) from Congleton, containing 1143 inhabitants. The Grand Trunk canal passes through the parish. A school is supported by annual subscriptions averaging about £25.
