The outside flight of steps leads to a gallery. The Church is also known as the Jenkin Chapel, one theory for its name arising from that of the stone known as the “Jenkin Cross”, at the junction of three ‘Salt Ways’, said also to mark the site occupied by a trader from Wales known as Jenkin.
