died 20 Sep 1799 aged 49 years

BAKEWELL MUNICIPAL CEMETERY
The Graves are on the immediate right hand side of the main path, walking into the Cemetery past the lodge at the entrance. They are past the chapel on the right hand side of the main path and before reaching the chapel in the centre of the main pathway.
B1. In Affectionate Rememberance of Horatio NELSON
of Bakewell, who died May 6th 1883 aged 75 years
Also of Sarah his wife,
who died March 30th 1888 aged 83 years
Also of Thomas their son,
who died July 22nd 1871 aged 36 years
And of Sarah their daughter,
who died November 15th 1876 aged 33 years.
[Note: Sarah's parents Thomas and Lydia ROOSE
are buried at Youlgreave]


B2. Next to it is the BATH Grave:
In Affectionate Rememberance
of Travis BATH of Haddon Hall
who departed this life
April 6th 1861 aged 69 years
I know that my redeemer liveth
and that he shall stand
at the latter day upon the earth
Also of Mary Ann, relict of
the above named Travis BATH,
who departed this life
December 9th 1879 aged 74 years
Her end was peace

and his family are close to the grave of Horatio

B3. Francis NELSON,
died 20th October 1913 aged 71 years
Elizabeth NELSON died 5th February 1916,
in her 79th year (wife of Francis)
Their eldest son Joseph Champion
died 20th February 1908 aged 39 years

B4. Harriet AITKEN, died
28 September 1962 aged 96 years
(daughter of Francis NELSON)
James Frederic AITKEN died 9th July 1896,
and was interred at Avondale, Alabama,
U.S.A. aged 42 years (her husband)
John Francis AITKEN,
killed in action 6th September 1917,
interred near Ypres (their son)
Dorothy AITKEN died 13th July 1984
aged 89 years (their daughter)
