The Methodist Church, Calver (2003)

Recent Photograph of The Methodist Church (2003) (Calver)

The plaque above the doorway tells us this was dedicated originally as ‘Jubilee Primitive Methodist Chapel 1860’, though its congregation would have predated the building, for according to my reference source, “the Bradwell Primitive Methodist Circuit welcomed the Calver Society in 1822, a Sunday School started above a local joiner's workshop eleven years later and then the Adult Society moved to a rented room at the Bridge Inn in 1856... Calver Primitive Methodist Chapel was built in 1860”.

The more modern blue-green sign to the right of the porch says “Calver Methodist Church... All Welcome”.
