St Michael & All Angels Church, Alsop en le Dale

The church is understood to be of early Norman foundation, but Alsop en le Dale was until the 19th century, a dependency of Ashbourne. The tower, whilst appearing to be in a similar style as the body of the church was not added until 1883, though Kelly's Directory of 1895 assures us that the Norman doorway to the nave is authentic.

Alsop en le Dale is actually quite close to the Staffordshire border.
