Pictures of the Past : The Way in from Coxbench, Little Eaton

Old Postcard of The Way in from Coxbench (Little Eaton)

This card was posted home to Australia in September 1909 by the contributor, Phil Williamson's[1] grandfather - he was in the UK for 18 months during the period 1909/10 studying at the Royal College of Music in London. The message on the back of it says:

“This is a picture of Little Eaton as you walk down the road from Coxbench. The [railway] line is the Gt Midland, and the smoke comes from the chimney of the Little Eaton Paper Mills.”

His interest in Little Eaton is believed to be relating to his grandmother, Sarah Webster, who was born in Little Eaton in about 1824.
