Old Lime Kiln, Millers Dale (Plaque)

Recent Photograph of Old Lime Kiln (Plaque) (Millers Dale)

This is the diagram on a plaque describing the Old Lime Kiln to the west (Buxton side) of the old railway station at Millers Dale. There is also a photograph showing the Top of the Kiln and this diagram shows coal and limestone being poured into the kiln at the top from waggons which had arrived along specially contructed narrow gauge railtracks. Limestone was tipped from inner rails and coal was tipped from the outer set of rails.
