Old Postcard of Nether Padley - View from Maynard Arms Hotel

This view looks down the valley of the Burbage Brook, towards the River Derwent, and on the other side of the valley, towards Leam. It also illustrates the location of Padley Lower Mill from the Main Road opposite the Maynard Arms Hotel. Another old postcard, of Maynard Arms Grounds shows the view from the opposite direction; and it is believed residents, and guests at the Hotel may once have had access to the grounds via a gate opposite the Hotel. The gate, and the access it provided, are of course now long gone, and the area is in private ownership.
