SOMERSALL-HERBERT, a parish in the hundred of APPLETREE, county of DERBY, 3 miles (E. by N.) from Uttoxeter, containing 104 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Derby, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £4. 18. 10., and in the patronage of the Earl of Chesterfield. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
