Youlgreave - Sketch of A Cottage in Bradford DaleThis sketch is based upon an old photograph of this cottage, which used to stand in Bradford Dale just below Youlgreave. It was referred to as a workman's cottage in ‘The Avenue Youlgrave’, so it was probably occupied by a woodsman or water bailiff. The river was good for freshwater crayfish at one time so perhaps it might have been connected with that. Upstream is a little bridge, and another sketch shows the same Cottage in Bradford Dale from a viewpoint on the path, to the side of the bridge. (Information provided by Don Rimmington)
