Inside St Mary the Virgin's Church, Hartpury (2005)St Mary's has a large broad Norman nave to which a large spacious 14th century chapel and a west tower have been added. The tower east wall is the former west wall of the church, although disappointingly without an ornate doorway. One stands on the south side of the nave - possibly reset? There is a huge ancient chest in the chancel, yet the feel of size does not come across in the photo I took. Wishy-washy not modern nor traditional glass, but an otherwise beautifully traceried east window. (Information provided by Phil Draper)
