St Edward the Confessor's Church, Kempley

Recent Photograph of St Edward the Confessor's Church (Kempley)

St Edward the Confessor's Church replaced the earlier St Mary's Church in Kempley. The foundation stone was laid in 1902 and the Church was dedicated on St Stephen's Day, 1903.

The panel above the doorway, which is in shade on this photograph, contains a relief carving in stone. There is a similar panel on the east face (on the left of this photograph), shown more clearly on another photograph of St Edward the Confessor's Church.

This photograph was taken in early morning 15th May 2003. I was on my way to Queen's Wood to walk Poppy.
