1st Hampshire Regt, served in the Afghan War 1878 - 1780.
Shot by a fanatic at Pesh Awar, India 23 March 1899.
Louis St Gratien, Lt Col, D.S.O, Commanding 1st East Lancs Regt,
Served with the Chitral Relief Force, India 1895 and throughout the
South African War, 1899 - 1902. Born at Little Rissington,
2nd December 1866, was killed at La Ferte sous Jouarre, France
whilst leading his regiment at the Battle of the Marne, 9 September 1914
Beatrice Eliza, born at Little Rissington, 8 August 1865. She had great
Affection for the village. Died 21 April 1915
