UPLEADON, a parish in the hundred of BOTLOE, county of GLOUCESTER, 3 miles (E. by N.) from Newent, containing 182 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Hereford, and diocese of Gloucester, endowed with £300 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Gloucester. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, has a Norman entrance on the north side. The river Leadon runs through the parish.
