Baptist Church, Wotton under Edge

Recent Photograph of Baptist Church (Wotton under Edge)

The Baptist Chapel building dates from 1818, but there has been a Baptist ministry in Wotton under Edge since 1717, and, it has been said on the town's Official Website[1] that it “reflects the architectural characteristics of the previous century”.

It is a rectangular block with two stories, and side wings containing stairs to the upper level. Inside there is a gallery on three sides, supported on five cast iron columns, and a balcony with “front classical panels, painted”.

The graveyard on the right side and the graves at the front are surrouded by spear-head iron railings
