Inside St Andrew's Church, Evesbatch

Recent Photograph of Inside St Andrew's Church (Evesbatch)

Quite remote and really cutely proportioned church, not tall and rather narrow. Over restored, but containing a good Jacobean font cover and early glass by Kempe in the East window. However the star attraction here is the hanging monument to a Mrs Dobyns d.1658, a mix of rustic framing and allegorical flanking figures but a frontal bust of the lady holding a baby of exquisite detail.
[Ed: ex. Phil's Flikr site, as the church was locked on my visit in 2008, and ever since then I have been desperate to know what it's like inside!]
