St Margaret's Church, St Margarets

Recent Photograph of St Margaret's Church (St Margarets)

The approach to St Margarets Church is somewhat of a surprise. It is on a sharp bend on a quiet road, and just outside the village. It is however a wonderful little church.

The exterior, with this most unusual overhanging bell turret, is, so the Guide Leaflet says, more typical of a Welsh church rather than an English one. Today it is immensely peaceful here, but it is near to the Welsh Border, and is in an area of Herefordshire which was once part of Wales (Ewyas Lacy Hundred) and would not always have been so when border disputes were commonplace.
