St Peter's Side Chapel, Staunton on ArrowThis is one of two transeptal side chapels on an otherwise aisleless church. Here, on the south side, are monuments to the KING family of Staunton Park, and it appears to have been their private chapel, as it also contains a fireplace! Obviously this was the fashion in the neighbourhood, as the same arrangement may be seen at nearby Shobdon, and perhaps likewise here at Staunton on Arrow, the opposite north transept was for the servants. Today this chapel also contains several displays relating to the history of the church, and a list of memorial inscriptions as transcribed by the Herefordshire Family History Society in 1991. There is also a graveyard plan, showing the location of each grave. (Information provided by Rosemary Lockie)
