Roman City, Wroxeter (1)

Recent Photograph of Roman City (1) (Wroxeter)

English Heritage tells us that “Wroxeter was the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. Originally a legionary fortress, it later developed into a thriving civilian city populated by retired soldiers and traders.” Depicted are the 2nd century municipal baths and the remains of the huge wall dividing them from the exercise hall.
