Unusual Headstone, Norton in the Moors

The inscription says:-

To the memory / of John STANFIELD late
of Balledge in this / parish who died 1 of
August 1816 aged 44 / years

The age was inscribed originally as 35, but has been changed to 44.
The carving on the right is the Coat of Arms of the Free Masons.
