Inside St Mary the Virgin's Church, Calne

Recent Photograph of Inside St Mary the Virgin's Church (Calne)

Inside, the Norman arcades appear low against the tall 15th century clerestory, which was added at a later date. Yet the east arches are tall, and the chancel arcades are Tuscan work of the late 17th century, a consequence of the collapse of a central tower in 1638. Not much else to note except for the pendant Fan Vault of the North Porch. Yet a stately impressive church, which I really liked.
