Westmacott Memorial, Charlton St Peter
The Westmacott Memorial, sheer quality IMHO... (and a bug*er to take dappled in
sunshine!) [but quite delightfully so - Ed!]
Near this Church are deposited
the Remains of Thomas FOWLE, Esqr.
of Durrington, in this County;
who died February the 3d. 1783,
aged 48 Years.
Also of Henry FOWLE, Esqr.
of the same Place,
who died May the 16th. 1803, aged 67 Years.
And of Jane, his Wife,
Daughter of Mr. Thomas SPRINGBELT, of Wilsford,
who died December the 7th 1780.
aged 49 Years.
This Monument was erected by their surviving Children
as the small and now alas! Only Tribute
of Gratitude, Duty, and Affection
to the Memory of the best and kindest of Parents.
Also of Sarah FOWLE, Daughter of
Henry FOWLE Esqr. of Durrington
who died November the 28th 1850.
Aged 86 Years.
Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.
