Church of the Ascension, Malvern LinkThis church, designed by Tapper is straight up the road from St Matthias's Church, past a mini roundabout half way up, and sited at the T junction. Planned as chapel of ease for St Matthias, local residents collected money for a chapel; but then along came benefactoress Mrs Livingstone who did it all for them, including choosing the architect, and paying the bill as a memorial to her late husband! The locals used their money to add a parish room immediately to the east which blends so well that I wondered whether Tapper designed this also. Four bayed nave, three-bayed narrower chancel, divided externally by a bellcote. At the west end a small rectangular tower rises of the baptistry and houses the organ.
