Samuel Butler, Strensham (d.1680)

Samuel BUTLER was born in Strensham in 1612. He is described in the Church guide book as a “satirist of puritan attitudes”, and it comments that it is fitting that it should have been erected here “in such a royal ambience”. He was in fact buried in Westminster Abbey.
