Youlgreave - Sketch of A Cottage in Bradford Dale

Black and White Sketch of A Cottage in Bradford Dale (Youlgreave)

This sketch is based upon an old photograph of this cottage, which used to stand in Bradford Dale just below Youlgreave. It was referred to as a workman's cottage in ‘The Avenue Youlgrave’, so it was probably occupied by a woodsman or water bailiff. The river was good for freshwater crayfish at one time so perhaps it might have been connected with that.

Upstream is a little bridge, and another sketch shows the same Cottage in Bradford Dale from a viewpoint on the path, to the side of the bridge.
