BROADWELL, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of SLAUGHTER, county of GLOUCESTER, 1 mile (N.N.E.) from Stow on the Wold, containing 296 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, rated in the king's books at £23. 11. 10., and in the patronage of J.H. Leigh, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Paul. The Roman Fosse-way crosses this parish.
