The Woodcutter, Chapel en le Frith

Recent Photograph of The Woodcutter (Chapel en le Frith)

This grave marker (evidently no longer in situ), known as the “Woodcutter's Grave”, is believed to be that of a 13th century forester, and allegedly the oldest known in the churchyard. It bears the letters ‘P’ ‘L’ with a depiction of an axe.
