Note: the Presbyterian (Unitarian) Chapel was built 1696, rebuilt on its present site in 1796 and enlarged in 1901.
The Methodist Chapel was built in 1806.

Inscription on Wall Tablet inside the porch, collected by Rosemary Lockie on 20th August 1989.
A1. In Memory of Ellen, Wife of William DRABBLE of Great Hucklow
who departed this life July 30th 1874 Aged 55 Years
Also the above William DRABBLE
Bellringer at this Chapel for nearly 40 Years
died May 30th 1887 Aged 79 Years
