The Village Cross, Great LongstoneThose from “out of area” may not realise that the cute little ‘hut’ in the background is in fact a typically 1960s Peak District bus shelter! Ah, Brave New World, when there was time and money to build them of Derbyshire stone, with a stone slate roof! The bus stop sign is outside on the right; whilst inside there's a wooden seat, and on the left wall, the all-important time table. (Information provided by Rosemary Lockie)
