St Nicholas's Church, Gloucester

Recent Photograph of St Nicholas's Church (Gloucester)

Shot from the south - Westgate - St Nicholas is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, open only April to September two days a week (Thurs, Fri). I was in here last time I was in the city but without camera. So I could only admire the tower and truncated spire (with its little parapet and pinnacles - like a coronet), the warped looking nave roof (see from the north) and the odd tracery in the South West angle of the aisle. I glimpsed too the Norman tympanum in the porch. This was where I went during my 20 minutes waiting period for entry to [St Mary] de Lode!
