The River Leadon, DonningtonThe River Leadon marks the boundary of Donnington parish to the west. The river rises in Evesbatch parish to the north, flowing almost due south, joining the River Severn just north of Gloucester. In summer it can be little more than a trickle, but in a wet winter it can be a torrent and may burst its banks to flood the fields to either side. Its flood plain provides fertile soil, where wheat, rape and barley can be grown. Oh, and some electricity pylons, which march along the river valley... (Information provided by Rosemary Lockie)
