Inside St John the Baptist's Church, Mathon (W)The west end of the Church, where there is a small area curtained off underneath the tower for the bell ringers. The tower was built in the 14th century, and in common with many of the surrounding towers functioned as a look-out and place of refuge during the Welsh Border disputes, and a church bell would be rung in times of danger.
