St Mary Magdalene's Church was constructed in 1877-80 by Cheiake, using materials from a dismantled older church nearer to the centre of Stretton Sugwas village. Pevsner says the timber framed tower was inspired by the one at Holmer, which he dates from the 16th century. Timbers from the old church were used in its construction.
