The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £5. 9. 4. The King presented for that turn in 1786. The church is dedicated to St. Chad. The learned Dr. Lightfoot, Master of Clare Hall, Cambridge, was rector of this parish. |
