Inside St John the Baptist's Church, Ashley

Recent Photograph of Inside St John the Baptist's Church (Ashley)

The church is - for want of a better word - cluttered, but oh what clutter! There are some sixteen brass chandeliers - I didn't count them, the BofE has though - copious marble and alabaster memorials, screens, altarpieces. An old print shows the former east window of the chancel, now here a solid wall and large reredos. Cecil Hare was the outfitter here, the successor of Bodley.

Other details include the font and canopy, built into the north east pier of the tower and fine marble tiled floors.
