In Loving Memory of Hannah beloved wife of Charles LANE of the parish who died February 9th 1908, Aged 81 yrs Also of Charles LANE husband of the above who died May 2nd 1915, Aged 80 yrs also of Julia MOORE, daughter of the above who died on Jan 2nd 1918, Aged 62yrs, Likewise of Alfred Charles LANE, grandson of the above who was Killed in Action in France, June 15th 1918, Aged 23 yrs Note: Stewart's interest is the LANEs is via his grandmother Catherine Rosa LANE b. 1902, and he has researched the family back to 1789. Sarah Ann HENLEY, the lady who threw herself off the Clifton Suspension Bridge (in Bristol) in 1885 married into this family. She survived the 250 foot fall to live for another 60 years, during which she met and married Edward LANE. |
