Donnington is a small church, but it has some very fine stained glass.

D7. Marble Carved Wall Plaque
Sacred to the Memory of / Edward Henry WEBB
Lieutenant of the 88th Connaught Rangers,
Second and youngest Son of Richard WEBB Esq.
of Donnington Hall in the Parish.
He was killed on the seventh of June 1855,
At the successful attack upon the quarries before Sebastopol
in the 22nd year of his Age, having previously served
his country at the Battles of Alma and Inkerman.
He lies interred on the left of the Woronzoff Road
in a spot where also repose the remains of
three Captains of his Regiment who fell on the same day.
Ardent in the discharge of duty,
affectionate and gentle towards his family and friends,
this gallant young solder was deservedly beloved,
and universally lamented.
His sole dependence was on divine aid:
his latest thoughts were of home. As touchingly
expressed in a letter to his Mother,
written a few hours before the Assault.
In him, his sorrowing parents
have lost a fond and dutiful son:
his country, a brave and promising officer.
