the Reverend John FITZ-HERBERT, M.A
fecund son of William FITZ-HERBERT of
Tifsington [Tissington] in this county, Efq
He was Vicar of this church for 39 years in
which he delivered the momentous doctrines of
chriftianity with a peculiar propriety and
affecting energy. His life was an example of the
virtues he recommended, for his heart was perfectly
fincere to God and Man, and his actions fuch as
naturally flowed from the pureft principles
of piety, juftice and cherity. he departed this life
on the 19th July 1785 in his 68th year of his age
He married Susanna the younger daughter and Coheirefs
of Richard PEACOCK late of Rodfley [Rodsley] in this
county, Gentleman. She died on the 27th of November
1786 aged 57 years and her remains are interred in this place
