“Civil Parish Stoke (entire)
Stoke Hall - Stoke Farm - Stoke Toll Bar House - Flora Cottages - Knoughley (sic) Farm and Goatscliff”

The Enumerator was George Ezra Warhurst.

These transcriptions are from photocopies/images of original returns obtained from various sources. Whilst I have taken every care to transcribe accurately, mistakes are always possible, so in case of doubt, please check the original source for yourself. Thank you.

Addresses contain Folio (‘F’), Page (‘P’) and Census Schedule (‘S’) Numbering - for example ‘F18/P1/S1’ - Folio 18, Page 1, Schedule 1. The Folio is the number hand-stamped at the top right of each odd-numbered page and the Schedule is the household sequence adopted for the Census return. This is not necessarily a house number, nor even an indication that particular households are next to each other, but merely the order the Enumerator recorded the households.

Please note also there are two additional fields on 1901 Census forms. They are headed: "Worker, Employer or Own Account" & "At Home" and in this presentation are shown in square brackets [] immediately after Occupation. Marital Status is indicated by a single letter - ‘M’=Married, ‘S’=Single, ‘W’=Widowed.
