WHITTINGTON, a parish in the hundred of BRADLEY, county of GLOUCESTER, 4 miles (E.S.E.) from Cheltenham, containing 215 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, rated in the king's books at £13. 6. 8., and in the patronage of Walter Lawrence Lawrence, Esq. The small river Coln runs through the parish.
