Pictures of the Past : Going to Church, Eyam

Old Photograph of Going to Church (Eyam)

The Mother and father Isaac and Anne (née WILLIS) RIDGEWAY of the groom, Herbert RIDGEWAY are captured going into Church. The girls lining the Church path worked at Isaac's Shoe Factory. The lady wearing the large hat, walking behind the threesome in the foreground is the Village Schoolmistress, Frances THOMPSON.

In the background the familiar frontage of The Bull's Head Inn can be seen, now converted into three appartments and named Talbot Court

This is one of several wonderful old postcards and photographs belonging to Bob Munson and his wife Doreen, and relating to the Ridgeways of Eyam.
