Old Postcard of Grindleford - Swallow Nest Cottage

Old Postcard of Swallow Nest Cottage (Grindleford)

‘Swallow Nest Cottage’ was partially demolished for road-widening in c.1958. The distinctive Methodist Chapel, Grindleford can be seen in the background, so this photograph is post-1905, after the Chapel was built.

Thanks to Alan Jacques for pointing out that the left side of the postcard had been cut and ‘Low Nest’ was not the cottage's full name!

(Information provided by Rosemary Lockie)

This is one of several old photographs acquired after a sort-out at the Peak National Park Authority's Study Centre.
