Some Memorial Inscriptions - Weston upon Trent, Staffordshire
St Andrew's Churchyard

ABOUT THIS TRANSCRIPTION: This is an alphabetical list of the legible memorial inscriptions. The list includes all inscriptions - as far as I (Albert Alderson) am aware - up to February 2006.

Generally, gravestones to the south, east and north of the church have been moved to the perimeter of the churchyard and set upright in concrete bases. In some cases parts of the inscription are obscured by the concrete base. Some of the gravestones to the north of the church are difficult to access because of fences, shrubs, rubble and so on. Some gravestones to the south of the church remain in their original positions. Of these, five inscriptions have completely eroded. To the west of the church all of the gravestones are in their original positions.

Generally the inscriptions are in good condition. As the transcriptions are intended for family history purposes, I have not taken note of the layout of the inscriptions - the layout of the text below is for my own convenience - and I have not transcribed religious verses and so on. The use of upper and lower case letters is not as appears on the stones. Text in italics is not part of the inscription.

I have tried to be reasonably accurate with the transcriptions. However, you are advised that if you need to be certain about a transcription, then you should visit the churchyard to check.
