The Hall, Stoke (from Froggatt)

Recent Photograph of The Hall (from Froggatt) (Stoke)

This shows the Hall from the rear, and also illustrates the steep drop from down to the River Derwent below. In the old days there used to be a footpath following the river bank all the way from Grindleford to Froggatt, skirting below the Hall, but it is impassible now because the river is slowly eroding the bank, and the portion below the Hall has been subsumed by the river. Also as a consequence, extensive restoration at the back of the Hall itself has been necessary, to prevent erosion of the Hall's footage.

Please note the Hall is now a private residence.
