Sir William Moor, GrindlefordA photograph showing the rich carpet of heather which blankets so much of the gritstone moorlands in the Peak District of Derbyshire. A public footpath leaves the Sir William Hill Road by its junction with the road to Bretton, and crosses the moorland at this point. The stone circle known as ‘Wet Withens’ might be found by the more valiant amongst us somewhere to the left along this path. (Information provided by Rosemary Lockie)
